Bill and Karla Chambers, alumni from our department and owners of Stahlbush Island Farms in Corvallis, recently were honored with the College of Agriculture Distinguished Alumni Legacy Award (see video about this award, with some special mentions of our department!); and with the Oregon Business and Industry (OBI) Oregon Visionary Honoree award.
The Chambers' are leaders in the development of large, commercial, and sustainable organic farming in Oregon, and they are active advocates for the agriculture industry in our state. Stahlbush Island Farms began in 1985, and today it cultivates 5,000 acres in Oregon and offers the freshest individually quick frozen fruits, vegetables, grains & legumes.
