Alumnus Running for US Senate in Colorado

Ellen Burnes, who received her PhD from our department in 2001, is running for the US Senate in Colorado. She is currently a Finance Professor at Colorado State University, but she moved to Colorado in 2006 to work with an engineering firm on the global climate change and resiliency program. For the last 15+ years, Ellen has worked primarily in public and private consulting and policymaking in the United States, Australia, New Zealand, and the Middle East.

At OSU, Ellen's PhD advisor was Bill Boggess, now the Executive Associate Dean for OSU's College of Agriculture. Ellen's thesis was "Three studies on the role of uncertainty in the valuation and management of renewable natural resources."
