Robert King is also a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Applied Economics at the University of Minnesota. His current research focuses on organic and sustainable agriculture; on management issues facing food retailers and manufacturers, farmer cooperatives, and farmers; and on food access and security for low income households. He is a past President and Fellow of the Agricultural & Applied Economics Association. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Institute for Sustainable Agriculture, the Administrative Council for the North Central Region Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education program, and the International Advisory Board for the Wageningen School of Social Sciences at Wageningen University in the Netherlands.
