Research includes issues related to water and land use, energy, taxation, modeling of coupled human-natural systems, the relationship between economic growth and natural resource allocation (the environmental Kuznets curve), and sustainable development.

Jaeger’s teaching includes graduate and undergraduate courses in environmental and natural resource economics, water economics, and institutional economics.


Dr. Jaeger is professor in the Department of Applied Economics, and extension agricultural and resource policy specialist. Prior to coming to Oregon State University, Dr. Jaeger spent 12 years in the economics department at Williams College, MA. He has been a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Venice, Italy, has taught at the University of Washington, University of Oregon and has been a research economist and consultant to the World Bank. He serves on the board of directors of ELAW, the Environmental Law Alliance Worldwide.
